The DAKOTA SOURCING 13118 is a copper reducing coupling designed to connect two different-diameter copper tubing runs in a sweat-soldered (C x C) configuration. It transitions from a 7/8-inch OD (3/4-inch ID) tube on one end to a 3/4-inch OD (5/8-inch ID) tube on the other end. This fitting is used when a refrigerant or fluid line changes diameter within the same run, eliminating the need for field fabrication. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and refrigeration mechanics install this type of fitting during new system construction or service work where tubing sizes must be stepped down.
This reducing coupling suits residential and light commercial plumbing, refrigeration, and HVAC line-set applications where copper tubing is joined by soldering. The C x C end configuration means both ends accept standard copper tubing and are joined using a flux-and-solder sweat process. It is appropriate for use in supply lines, refrigerant suction and liquid lines, and hydronic piping where a controlled diameter reduction is required at a straight-run connection point.

Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians using standard tube-cutting, reaming, and sweat-soldering tools. Shut off the fluid or refrigerant supply and depressurize the line before cutting into an existing system. Clean both tube ends and fitting sockets thoroughly and apply appropriate flux before soldering; use lead-free solder where required by local plumbing codes such as the IPC or applicable state amendments. Allow the joint to cool completely before restoring system pressure.
