The DAKOTA SOURCING 13115 is a sweat-connect copper reducing coupling designed to transition between two different copper tube sizes in a single fitting. It connects a 5/8 inch OD (1/2 inch ID) tube to a 3/8 inch OD (1/4 inch ID) tube using standard C x C (copper by copper) sweat ends. This type of fitting is a staple in refrigeration line work, HVAC systems, and plumbing installations where tube size must step down without additional adapters. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and refrigeration mechanics install this fitting during new construction and service calls alike.
This reducing coupling is suited for residential and light commercial applications where copper tubing must transition between ACR or plumbing tube sizes. Common install scenarios include branch line reductions in refrigerant circuits, chilled water piping, domestic water supply lines, and hydronic systems. The C x C sweat connection is compatible with standard brazing and soldering practices used throughout the trade.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat reducing coupling for use with standard copper tubing in HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or refrigeration mechanic following applicable local codes and ASTM B88 or B280 tubing standards. Shut off and recover all system pressure or refrigerant charge before cutting into an existing line. Clean and flux all tube ends before soldering or brazing, and allow the fitting to cool fully before pressurizing the system.
