The DAKOTA SOURCING 13028 is a 90-degree copper street long elbow fitting designed for use in plumbing and hydronic piping systems. This fitting connects using a female fitting (FTG) end on one side and a copper sweat (C) end on the other, allowing it to thread directly into another fitting without a pipe nipple in between. The street configuration saves space in tight installations. With a 3/8 inch outer diameter and 1/4 inch inner diameter, this elbow is sized for small-bore copper tubing runs commonly found in residential and light commercial applications. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the typical installers.
This fitting is suited for residential plumbing, refrigeration, and HVAC piping applications where a 90-degree directional change is needed in a copper tubing system. The long-turn radius of this elbow reduces flow restriction compared to a standard short-radius elbow, making it a preferred choice where flow efficiency matters. It is appropriate for use in potable water, hydronic heating, and refrigerant line applications where copper is the specified material.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for small-bore copper piping systems using standard 3/8 inch OD sweat connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off the water or refrigerant supply and relieve system pressure before beginning work. Clean and deburr all pipe ends, apply flux evenly, and solder joints using the appropriate copper-to-copper solder per code requirements. Do not apply heat unevenly or overheat the fitting, as this can compromise the joint integrity.
