The ABB INSTALLATION PRODUCTS A410R-CAR is a 1-gang PVC cover plate designed for 4-inch square electrical boxes with a 1/2-inch raised profile. It provides a finished, code-compliant face for device openings in residential and light commercial conduit installations. The cover measures 4 inches by 4 inches by 1/2 inches and offers 4.2 cubic inches of internal volume. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this cover as part of standard box assembly work in both new construction and retrofit applications. Its PVC construction resists corrosion and moisture, making it suitable for damp or exposed locations where metal covers may be less appropriate.
This cover plate is used on 4-inch square PVC electrical boxes in conduit wiring systems, including ENT (Electrical Nonmetallic Tubing) quick connect blue smurf box installations. It is commonly installed in residential rough-in work, light commercial tenant build-outs, and any application where a 1-gang device opening is needed on a 4-inch square box assembly. The 1/2-inch raised depth accommodates standard device yokes and allows proper seating of receptacles, switches, and similar wiring devices.
Designed for use with 4-inch square PVC electrical boxes, including ENT quick connect blue smurf boxes. Also suitable as an OEM-style cover for standard 4-inch square box assemblies requiring a 1-gang, 1/2-inch raised cover plate.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with NEC requirements for box fill and device mounting. De-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage before installing or replacing any cover plate or wiring device. Ensure the box is securely fastened before attaching the cover, and confirm device yoke alignment to prevent cover stress or cracking. PVC covers should not be overtightened, as excessive torque on mounting screws can crack the material.
