The ABB INSTALLATION PRODUCTS B455A-UPC is a 4-gang new work electrical box with a molded bracket designed for rough-in wiring installations in new residential and light commercial construction. The box is manufactured from PVC, making it non-conductive and non-corrosive — two properties that matter in high-moisture or chemically active environments. With 55 cubic inches of interior volume and 12 integral cable clamps, this box accommodates a high conductor count without requiring add-on clamp hardware. Captive nails on the molded bracket allow for fast, tool-minimal attachment to wall studs during framing.
This box is suited for new construction framing phases where the stud wall is open and accessible. Electricians use it to mount multi-gang device configurations — receptacle banks, switch groups, or combination device layouts — in residential walls, commercial partition framing, and similar wood-stud assemblies. The integral bracket positions the box flush to the finished wall plane when correctly set during rough-in, reducing shimming and adjustment at trim-out. The PVC body resists moisture and corrosion in applications such as basement framing, utility rooms, and below-grade partition walls.
Designed as an OEM-style new work box for standard wood-stud framing applications requiring a 4-gang rough-in enclosure in new construction electrical installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician during the rough-in phase before drywall is applied. Nail the bracket to the stud face at the correct height and depth to land the box face flush with the finished wall surface. Route conductors through the integral clamps and tighten clamps to secure cables before inspection. Verify conductor fill does not exceed the rated 55 cubic inch capacity per NEC box-fill calculation requirements.
