About Gilmour

John Gilmore started Gilmore Heating, Air, and Solar in order to provide customers with the best service around. At Gilmore, employees know that problems with an HVAC or solar system can be stressful, and their goal is to let customers know that they are the most important part of all the work that gets done. Before he opened Gilmore, John graduated from the Los Angeles Technical College with training in air conditioning technologies. He immediately went to work designing heating and air conditioning systems for a large residential HVAC firm in Southern California. Over the next few years, he rose to the position of Vice President of Operations. In 1972, John moved on to help build and manage a new SoCal HVAC company, Certified Air & Heating. He helped it grow into one of the country’s largest service and replacement companies at that time. He opened his own heating and air conditioning company in 1973, in Glendale, CA. John still manages that business today. In 1979, John also opened Gilmore Heating, Air, and Solar, in Placerville, CA. He built the business, from the ground up, into a reliable, well-known, well-loved firm that currently supports more than 70 employees. Now, John’s son Darrin carries on in his father’s footsteps, though John still plays an active role behind the scenes.
