The ZOELLER 173-0001 Tru-Flow Splitter System is a polypropylene effluent distribution assembly designed to evenly split wastewater flow across drain field lines in septic and onsite wastewater systems. Built from non-corrodible polypropylene, it resists the deterioration that commonly affects concrete distribution boxes over time. The system handles flow rates from 0.1 to 30 GPM and consists of two main components: the diverter basin with cover and an adjustable diverter. Licensed plumbers and septic system installers use this unit as a durable alternative to traditional distribution boxes in residential and light commercial onsite waste systems.
The 173-0001 is suited for installations where ground settlement is a concern. The unit tolerates up to 15 degrees of tilt front to back (30 degrees total) and up to 12 degrees side to side (24 degrees total). Even when the housing is not perfectly level, the adjustable diverter can be set to maintain even flow distribution across outlet lines. This makes it a practical choice for sites with shifting or unstable soil conditions where concrete boxes are prone to cracking or going out of level.
Compatible for use with SDR-35 and SCH 40 pumps and piping. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation splitter for residential and light commercial septic effluent distribution systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or certified septic system installer in accordance with local onsite wastewater codes and applicable IPC or state plumbing regulations. Shut off the pump and isolate the system from flow before opening or adjusting any component. After installation, adjust the diverter with the system level — or compensate for known tilt — before commissioning flow to ensure even distribution across outlet lines. Do not use in pressurized supply or potable water applications.
