The ZILMET zht105 is a vertical hydronic expansion tank designed to absorb pressure fluctuations in closed-loop heating systems. Constructed with a stainless steel body and a baked-on epoxy-polyester exterior coating, it delivers a durable, corrosion-resistant finish suited to mechanical room environments. With a 27.7-gallon tank volume and a 3/4-inch MNPT connection, this tank is sized for larger residential or light commercial hydronic installations. A metal base provides stable, floor-mounted positioning. Maximum operating pressure is 60 psi, and the system is rated for operating temperatures up to 210 degrees F. Licensed plumbers and hydronic system technicians are the primary installers.
This expansion tank is applied in closed-loop hydronic heating systems where thermal expansion must be controlled to protect boilers, piping, and system components from excess pressure. The vertical orientation and metal base make it well suited for mechanical rooms where floor space is available and wall-mounting is not preferred. The 3/4-inch MNPT connection allows direct integration with standard hydronic supply or return piping. It is appropriate for systems requiring a larger-volume expansion vessel to handle the displacement demands of extended or multi-zone hydronic circuits.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation expansion tank for closed-loop hydronic heating systems requiring a vertical, floor-mounted vessel with a 3/4-inch MNPT connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or hydronic systems technician familiar with closed-loop heating system requirements. Shut down the boiler and relieve system pressure before connecting or servicing the expansion tank. Verify that the pre-charge pressure in the tank is set to match the system static fill pressure before placing the system into service. Follow applicable local plumbing codes and ASME standards for expansion tank sizing and installation.
