The YG-1 GM876080 is a single-end ball nose end mill designed for milling operations requiring precise contoured and profiled cuts. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiAlN via a PVD process, this tool delivers consistent performance across both roughing and finishing passes. It features a 4.00 mm nose radius, a 30-degree helix angle, and a 2-flute helical geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation. The right-hand cutting direction and straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard collet and end mill holders. At 0.1 pounds, it is a compact tool suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills alike.
This end mill is engineered for use on steel as its primary workpiece material, with cast iron as a secondary application material. Its short-length designation and 9.00 mm length of cut suit it to shallow-to-medium depth profile milling, slot finishing, and 3D surface work. The TiAlN coating extends tool life in higher-temperature cutting environments common when machining ferrous materials. It carries an 8.00 mm mill diameter and an 8.00 mm shank diameter, keeping setup straightforward for shops already tooled to metric standards. This is a metric-series tool from YG-1s GM876 lineup.
Designed for use with standard metric collet systems and end mill holders accepting an 8.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank with h6 shank diameter tolerance. Primary workpiece material compatibility is steel; secondary compatibility is cast iron. Part of the YG-1 GM876 series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully powered down and in a locked-out state per applicable safety procedures. Ensure the collet or tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank to the specified depth. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excessive runout accelerates wear on carbide tooling. Follow the machine manufacturer and cutting tool manufacturer recommendations for speeds and feeds appropriate to this tool diameter and coating.
