The YG-1 GM153016 is a 4-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication, toolroom work, and general machining environments. It features a 0.25-inch mill diameter with a 30-degree helix angle and a 0.75-inch length of cut, making it well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in tighter workspaces. The micrograin carbide substrate provides wear resistance and edge retention at elevated cutting speeds. The bright/uncoated finish keeps tool cost low for applications where coating is not required. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working on manual or CNC machining centers.
This end mill is configured for right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction, which is standard for conventional milling setups. It is a single-end, non-centercutting tool, meaning it is not designed for direct plunging operations. With a regular length classification and a 2.5-inch overall length, it fits standard tool holders sized for 0.25-inch shanks. Typical applications include contouring, side milling, and shoulder milling in steel, aluminum, and similar materials where a 4-flute geometry is preferred for improved finish.
Designed as a standard 0.25-inch shank square end mill compatible with tool holders and collet systems sized for 1/4-inch diameter straight-shank tooling on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, de-energized state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or tool holder and verify runout with a dial indicator before production use. Confirm that the tool holder is rated for the intended spindle speed and that cutting parameters are set within the tool manufacturer's recommended ranges for the workpiece material.
