The YG-1 G8A46910 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for both roughing and finishing operations in ferrous and hard materials. Built on the G8A46 series platform, it features a 2.00 mm mill diameter with a 1.60 mm length of cut and a 1.00 mm nose radius. The nanograin carbide substrate and PVD BLUE coating provide thermal resistance and edge retention when cutting steel and hard workpiece materials. A 30-degree medium helix promotes chip evacuation while maintaining stability in the cut. The extended reach design, with a 20.00 mm reach length and a reduced neck diameter of 1.95 mm over an 18.40 mm neck length, allows access to deep cavities and tight profiles. Installed by machinists and tooling professionals in CNC milling applications.
This end mill is suited for precision CNC milling work in steel and hard materials where extended reach and a small diameter ball profile are required. The single-end, straight-cylindrical shank with a 4.00 mm shank diameter and h6 tolerance is compatible with standard collet and end mill holder systems. At 55.00 mm overall length, it fits in typical vertical and horizontal machining centers. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it a standard configuration for most CNC setups. The spiral flute geometry supports consistent chip flow during both slotting and profiling passes.
Designed for use in CNC milling applications targeting steel and hard workpiece materials, as indicated by primary workpiece material codes P and H. The 4.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits standard metric collet chucks and end mill holders used in vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts, as runout is especially critical at 2.00 mm diameters. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines for clamping torque on collets and holders to avoid shank damage.
