The YG-1 DTX424016 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in steel and other ferrous workpiece materials. Built on the DH424 series platform, it features a 140-degree self-centering point with R-thinned web geometry that reduces thrust and improves hole entry accuracy. The 0.0630-inch diameter bit runs a right-hand spiral flute with a regular helix, producing clean, consistent holes in general-purpose machining environments. With an h6 diameter tolerance on the shank, this bit seats reliably in standard drill chucks and collet holders. Machinists, tool-and-die shops, and production drilling operations are the primary users.
This drill bit is suited for general-purpose drilling applications in steel, with a primary workpiece material code of P covering a broad range of ferrous metals. The 10xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports depth-to-diameter drilling within the 0.6304-inch maximum drilling depth. It is appropriate for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine setups where a small-diameter solid carbide bit is required. The DTX424016 falls within the 0.0500-to-0.1000-inch diameter range of the DH424 series, making it a consistent drop-in when replacing worn bits within that family.
Designed as a general-purpose solid carbide jobber drill bit for drilling steel and ferrous metals; part of the YG-1 DH424 series covering the 0.0500-to-0.1000-inch diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in a precision collet or drill chuck before operation to prevent runout. Carbide bits are brittle compared to high-speed steel - avoid side loads, interrupted cuts without proper setup, and dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate when working with solid carbide tooling in this diameter range.
