The YG-1 DTX406115 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Built to DIN 6537 specifications, this bit features a 140-degree point angle with web thinning for reduced thrust and cleaner entry. The TiAlN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in high-speed applications. Internal coolant-through channels deliver cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, making this bit well suited for deep-hole drilling in difficult materials. It is sized at 11.50mm diameter with a 12.00mm straight-cylindrical shank and an overall length of 102.00mm. Machinists and tool-room professionals install this type of bit in CNC machining centers and drill presses.
This drill bit is intended for use in screw machine length applications across a range of workpiece materials including steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and plastics. The short, rigid body length improves stability and reduces deflection compared to jobber-length alternatives, making it a practical choice for high-volume production drilling and precision hole work on machining centers equipped with coolant-through spindles. The 55.00mm flute length accommodates the chip evacuation demands of these materials at production feed rates.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machines equipped with coolant-through spindle capability and accepting a 12.00mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and plastics within the 11.00mm to 13.50mm drill bit size range category.
This bit should be installed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling and CNC or manual drill press operations. Secure the shank fully in a collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before operation, and verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits to avoid premature carbide breakage. Confirm coolant-through supply pressure and flow rate are appropriate for the application before engaging the cut. Never use carbide tooling on machines with excessive spindle play or in hand-held drilling operations.
