The YG-1 84584TF is a 6-flute, single-end square end mill machined from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiAlN for extended tool life in demanding cutting applications. It measures 3/8 inch in mill diameter with a 2-1/2 inch overall length (OAL) and a 7/8 inch length of cut. The 40-degree right-hand helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard collets and tool holders. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC programmers working in production and job-shop environments.
The 84584TF is engineered for milling steel and stainless steel as its primary workpiece materials, with secondary suitability for cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super alloys including titanium. The regular-length geometry and 3/8 inch shank diameter make it a practical choice for general-purpose profiling, slotting, and contouring passes on vertical machining centers and CNC knee mills. The TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance at elevated cutting speeds, extending tool life in harder ferrous materials. This is not a centercutting tool and should not be used for direct plunge cuts into solid material.
The 84584TF belongs to the YG-1 E5058 series and is designed for use in standard 3/8 inch collet systems and milling chucks on CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and similar equipment. Primary workpiece materials are steel and stainless steel; secondary materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super alloys with titanium.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's tooling and torque guidelines for the collet or chuck system in use. Confirm the spindle and axis drives are fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Ensure the shank is fully seated to the minimum engagement depth recommended for the holder type. Do not use this end mill for direct plunge milling into solid stock, as it is a non-centercutting geometry.
