The YG-1 55598TF is a solid micrograin carbide square end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. With a 3/4 inch diameter, 3 inch length of cut, and 6 inch overall length, this is an extra-long configuration suited for deep-pocket and extended-reach milling where standard-length tools fall short. The TiAlN coating provides oxidation resistance and thermal hardness retention at elevated cutting temperatures. A 30-degree right-hand spiral helix and four flutes deliver efficient chip evacuation and a strong finish on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. Right-hand cutting direction with a straight cylindrical shank. This tool is used by machinists and toolroom technicians in CNC milling centers and manual knee mills.
The 55598TF is suited for deep-pocket roughing and finishing operations in steel and stainless steel where a standard-length end mill cannot reach. The extra-long 6 inch OAL and 3 inch LOC make it appropriate for mold and die work, fixture machining, and production runs involving tall workpiece features. It is not a centercutting tool, so plunge cuts require a pilot hole or ramping entry. Secondary workpiece materials include cast iron and non-ferrous metals, making it a versatile general-purpose tool across multiple material grades in job shop and production environments.
Designed for use in standard 3/4 inch collets, end mill holders, and hydraulic or shrink-fit toolholding systems. Primary workpiece material is steel; secondary materials include stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals per YG-1 Series E5065 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the holder to minimize deflection given the extra-long reach. Because this tool is not centercutting, avoid direct plunge cuts into solid material - use a ramping or helical interpolation entry path instead.
