The YG-1 32000001 is a solid carbide indexable drill insert in the WCMX series, designed for use in indexable insert drills in metalworking and machining operations. The insert carries a TiAlN coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous cutting applications. With a 5/16 inch inscribed circle, 1/8 inch thickness, and a 1/32 inch corner radius, this insert fits standard WCMX-style drill bodies requiring the 050308 insert size. The right-hand cutting direction makes it suitable for conventional spindle rotation on CNC machining centers and drill presses. Machinists and tool-room technicians working in production or job-shop environments are the primary installers.
The 32000001 is intended for use in WCMX-compatible indexable drill bodies requiring an 050308-size insert with a right-hand cut. Typical applications include through-hole and blind-hole drilling in steel, cast iron, and similar materials on CNC machining centers, turret lathes, and drilling machines. The TiAlN coating makes this insert a practical choice for dry or minimum-quantity-lubrication cutting where heat buildup is a concern. This insert is sold individually and is a direct replacement for worn or chipped positions in multi-insert drill heads.
Designed for use in indexable drill bodies that accept WCMX-style inserts in the 050308 size. Confirm insert style, inscribed circle, thickness, and corner radius against the drill body specification before installation.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians using the torque wrench or hex key specified by the drill body manufacturer for the insert clamping screw. Power down and lock out the spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket for debris, damage, or wear before seating the new insert. Never exceed the clamping torque specified by the drill body manufacturer, as over-torquing can fracture the insert or damage the pocket.
