The YG-1 21556 is a single-end square end mill ground from micrograin solid carbide and designed for high-performance milling in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. The cutter features a 3/32 inch (0.0938 inch) mill diameter with a 42-degree helix angle, which promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup in gummy, low-ferrous alloys. Two right-hand spiral flutes with a bright/uncoated finish keep the tool profile clean and suited for applications where coating adhesion or thermal cycling is a concern. The 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders found on most CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is intended for use on aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials where a sharp, fast-cutting geometry is required. The regular-length body with a 1/4 inch length of cut and 1-1/2 inch overall length makes it a practical choice for shallow pocket milling, slotting, and profiling operations on small-format parts. It is not centercutting, so plunge entry is not recommended. Series E5254 from YG-1 targets light-to-moderate material removal in production and job-shop environments where dimensional accuracy is critical.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines equipped with standard 1/8 inch collet or end mill holder tooling. Primary workpiece material compatibility is aluminum and non-ferrous metals per Series E5254 design intent.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or collet is properly locked before inserting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening - insufficient engagement can cause runout or tool pullout under cut. Because this tool is not centercutting, use ramping or helical interpolation entry strategies rather than direct plunge moves.
