The YG-1 2091CTF is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit in Letter I size (0.2720 inches diameter), designed for high-performance drilling in steel and other ferrous materials. It features a TiAlN coating that extends tool life by reducing heat buildup at the cutting edge. The 140-degree self-centering point eliminates the need for a center punch in most applications and reduces walking on entry. With an overall length of 4.2969 inches and a flute length of 2.2031 inches, this bit is sized for general-purpose production drilling in CNC and manual machine tool environments. Licensed machinists and toolroom operators are the primary users.
This drill bit is built for drilling steel and P-category workpiece materials in production and job shop settings. The DH418 series targets applications where a long-running, consistent-cutting carbide tool is needed in place of high-speed steel. Coolant-through capability makes it compatible with through-spindle coolant systems on machining centers, supporting deeper holes and chip evacuation at the maximum drilling depth of 2.2031 inches. It is suited for both CNC machining centers and manual drill presses where a straight-cylindrical shank is required.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length replacement or production drill for straight-cylindrical shank tool holders and chucks accepting a 0.2656-inch shank diameter, suitable for P-category workpiece materials including carbon and alloy steels.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool crib personnel. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank in a precision drill chuck or collet holder to the shank diameter tolerance specified by the holder manufacturer. Verify coolant-through passages are clear if using through-spindle coolant, and confirm spindle speed and feed rate are set per the tooling manufacturer guidelines for the workpiece material before starting the cut.
