The YG-1 08593TF is a square end mill designed for material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide with a TiAlN coating, it handles steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals in demanding cutting environments. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting at elevated speeds. With a 2-inch length of cut and 4-inch overall length, this is a long-reach tool suited for deeper pocketing and slotting passes. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC machining centers are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill fits standard production and job-shop machining work involving steel components, stainless fabrications, cast iron parts, and non-ferrous workpieces. The straight-cylindrical, 1/2-inch shank seats into standard collet chucks and end mill holders on vertical or horizontal machining centers. Its long length-of-cut classification makes it appropriate for deep slots, pockets, and profiling passes where a standard-length tool cannot reach. It is not centercutting, so it is not suited for direct plunge entry.
Compatible with primary workpiece materials including steel (ISO P), stainless steel (ISO M), cast iron (ISO K), and non-ferrous metals (ISO N). Fits standard 1/2-inch collet chucks and end mill holders. This tool is not centercutting and is not designed for direct plunge milling operations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank fully into a collet or end mill holder to the recommended gauge-line depth before tightening. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in a safe state before any tool change. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating; excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and reduce surface finish quality on the workpiece.
