Wirepath SP-164-500-BLK Audio Cable 500 Ft Black

Product Description

The WIREPATH SP-164-500-BLK is a non-plenum rated audio cable designed for in-wall and structured wiring audio distribution in residential and light commercial installations. Supplied in a 500-foot box, this cable is intended for permanent installation in non-plenum spaces such as standard wall cavities, conduit runs, and drop ceilings that do not serve as air-return plenums. The black jacket finish suits installations where cable visibility matters or where color-coding by zone or circuit is part of the job plan. Low-voltage audio installers and AV integration technicians are the primary end users for this product.

This cable is suited for speaker runs, whole-home audio distribution, and background music systems in residential new construction or retrofit applications. It is appropriate for use in non-plenum-rated spaces and should be installed in compliance with NEC Article 725 and local low-voltage wiring codes. The 500-foot box format reduces mid-run splices on longer pulls and supports multi-zone audio wiring from a central distribution point to individual rooms or speaker locations.

Key Features

• Non-plenum (CL2 or equivalent) rated jacket suitable for standard wall and ceiling cavities
• 500-foot box format minimizes splice points on long cable runs
• Black jacket for clean aesthetics or zone-based color identification
• Designed for structured audio distribution in residential and light commercial settings
• Single unit (EA) packaging for straightforward project ordering

Compatibility

Designed as a general-purpose non-plenum audio cable for use with passive speaker systems and low-voltage audio distribution equipment in standard non-plenum building spaces.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified low-voltage technician or licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 725 and applicable local codes. Confirm that the installation space is classified as non-plenum before running this cable, as plenum-rated cable is required in any air-handling space. Power down or disconnect any connected audio equipment before terminating cable ends. Do not exceed the cable's rated bend radius during pulls to avoid signal degradation.
