The WILLIAMS COMFORT PRODUCTS AS204STR is a hydraulic nut splitter designed to remove seized, corroded, or frozen nuts quickly without damaging the underlying bolt or stud threads. The tool applies controlled hydraulic force through a precision cutting chisel, splitting the nut in seconds rather than the 20 to 30 minutes typically required with a hammer and chisel. It fits into tight spaces where swing clearance for impact tools or room for open flame is not available. Licensed tradespeople in industrial maintenance, pipefitting, and heavy equipment service rely on this type of tool for safe, efficient fastener removal.
The AS204STR handles nuts in the 1-7/8 to 2-3/8 inch across-the-flats range. It is suited for use in refineries, shipyards, manufacturing facilities, and heavy construction sites where rusted or galled fasteners are common. The design eliminates the need for hot-work permits by removing heat from the equation entirely, making it practical in environments where open flame is restricted. Optional adapters are available separately to extend capacity up to 6-1/2 inches for oversized fasteners.
Designed for nuts in the 1-7/8 to 2-3/8 inch across-the-flats range. Optional adapters sold separately extend capacity to 6-1/2 inches for use with larger fasteners.
Hydraulic nut splitters of this type are typically used by licensed pipefitters, millwrights, and industrial mechanics. Before use, relieve all system pressure and ensure the work area is clear of personnel not directly involved in the task. Position the cutting chisel squarely against the nut flat and calibrate depth before applying hydraulic pressure to prevent contact with the bolt threads. Follow all applicable site safety protocols and manufacturer operating instructions.
