The WIKA 30040A005A4SF is a bimetal dial thermometer designed for temperature measurement in HVAC, plumbing, and industrial process applications. It reads from 0 to 200 degrees F and uses a 4-inch stainless steel stem to sense temperature at the point of installation. The back-connected mount positions the dial face perpendicular to the pipe or vessel, making it easy to read from the front of the installation. With an accuracy rating of 1.0 percent and an 18-8 stainless steel housing, this thermometer is built for durability in wet, corrosive, and high-cycle environments common in mechanical rooms and process piping systems.
This thermometer is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC systems, hydronic heating and cooling loops, domestic hot water piping, and process lines where a permanent, locally readable temperature indication is needed. The 0 to 200 degrees F range covers typical supply and return water temperatures as well as domestic hot water service conditions. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and pipefitters install this type of instrument on tee fittings or thermowell connections during system commissioning and maintenance. The back-connected configuration is commonly used where the dial must face outward from a wall or panel while the stem enters a pipe horizontally or vertically.
Designed as an OEM-style and field-replacement bimetal dial thermometer for back-connected thermowell or direct-immersion installations on HVAC hydronic systems, domestic hot water piping, and light industrial process lines.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician. Shut off fluid flow and relieve system pressure before threading the stem into a thermowell or tee fitting. Use a wrench on the connection fitting only — avoid applying torque to the dial housing. Check local plumbing and mechanical codes for required thermowell use on pressurized systems before direct-immersion installation.
