The WIHA 66993 is a 22-piece L-key set featuring long-arm ball end hex keys in metric sizes ranging from 1.5 to 10mm. Each key is manufactured from Chrome Vanadium Molybdenum steel, delivering the hardness and toughness required for high-torque fastener work in tight or offset access situations. The ball end design allows engagement at angles up to 25 degrees, reducing the need to reposition the key on every stroke. The long-arm configuration increases torque leverage on the straight end while the short arm provides speed driving. This set is used by machinists, mechanical contractors, and field service technicians working on machinery, equipment assemblies, and structural components secured with metric hex fasteners.
The WIHA 66993 is suited for residential and commercial maintenance applications, manufacturing floor use, and field service work where a complete metric hex key range is required. The nine metric sizes included cover the most common fastener specifications encountered across European and metric-standard equipment. The set is a practical bench or tool bag addition for HVAC technicians, electricians, and plumbers who regularly encounter metric set screws and hex socket fasteners on equipment, valves, and motor assemblies.
Designed for use with standard metric internal hex (Allen-style) fasteners. Compatible with any hex socket fastener conforming to metric size standards in the 1.5 to 10mm range commonly found on machinery, HVAC equipment, valves, and electrical enclosures.
Hex key sets require no installation and are ready for use out of the package. Ensure the correct key size is fully seated in the fastener socket before applying torque to avoid rounding the fastener or damaging the key tip. Do not use extension cheater bars on L-keys, as this can exceed the material yield limit and cause key failure. Inspect keys periodically for wear or deformation and replace any key that shows signs of rounding or cracking.
