The WIDIA 7008715 is a 5-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. With a 0.5 inch cutting diameter, a 2.125 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length, this end mill is built for rigidity and reach in difficult-to-machine workpiece materials. The WU20PE coating provides enhanced wear resistance and heat tolerance, extending tool life in aggressive cutting conditions. A Weldon flat shank ensures secure tool holding and minimal runout. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working in production and job shop environments.
The WIDIA 7008715 Series W531 end mill is engineered for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The 5-flute helical geometry supports higher feed rates and improved surface finish compared to standard 4-flute designs. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional CNC machining center setups. With a regular length type and no extended reach, this tool is suited for standard depth slot milling, shoulder milling, and profiling operations where a 0.5 inch diameter tool is specified.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with standard 0.5 inch end mill toolholders or Weldon-flat-compatible collet chucks. Intended for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as specified by workpiece material codes P, M, K, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat against the set screw in the toolholder to prevent axial pull-out; verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts. Consult the machine tool manufacturer and applicable shop safety standards for proper toolholder torque procedures and cutting parameter selection.
