The WIDIA 7008707 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron applications. It features a 0.5 inch diameter, a 1.625 inch length of cut, and a 0.0600 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in demanding operations. The WU20PE PVD coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability. With five flutes and a close pitch, this tool supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. It is installed in CNC machining centers and milling machines by machinists and tooling technicians working in precision metal fabrication and production environments.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron as primary workpiece materials. It also performs in high-temperature alloys and hard materials as secondary applications. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral are standard for conventional CNC toolholder setups. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive engagement and is compatible with standard Weldon-style toolholders. The 4 inch overall length and regular length type make it appropriate for general-depth pocketing, slotting, and profiling operations where extended reach is not required. It is part of the WIDIA W511 series.
Designed for use with standard Weldon-style toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Secondary workpiece materials include high-temperature alloys and hard materials. Part of the WIDIA W511 series; manufacturers catalog number W511E13016RGW WU20PE.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat against the setscrew in the toolholder fully before torquing to prevent axial pull-out under load. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and degrade surface finish on this close-pitch five-flute geometry.
