The WIDIA 6671913 is a DCMT3252 series carbide turning insert designed for precision metal removal on CNC lathes and turning centers. Coated with a multilayer TiCN and Al2O3 MTCVD CVD process coating under manufacturer grade WK15CT, this insert delivers thermal and wear resistance suited to demanding cutting applications. It features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape, a neutral hand orientation, a 0.3750-inch inscribed circle, and a 0.0312-inch corner radius. With four cutting edges and a honed cutting edge style, it provides extended tool life and consistent surface finishes on cast iron and steel workpieces.
This insert is intended for turning operations in both production and job-shop environments. Its primary workpiece material rating is cast iron (ISO code K), with a secondary rating for steel (ISO code P), making it a practical choice for machinists working across mixed-material schedules. The positive rake geometry and screw-type insert holding method suit standard DCMT-style toolholders. It conforms to ANSI and ISO standards and carries the ISO designation DCMT11T308. Installation is performed by licensed machinists or CNC operators in metalworking applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit insert for DCMT-series toolholders accepting a 3252 insert size with a 0.1750-inch hole diameter and screw-type clamping, conforming to ANSI and ISO DCMT11T308 specifications.
Insert seating and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and spindle locked before handling. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the clamping screw - do not overtighten. Inspect the toolholder pocket for debris or wear before seating the new insert. Follow your facility safety procedures and applicable OSHA machine guarding requirements during insert changes.
