The WIDIA 6568871 is a replaceable drill tip in the TDMX series, designed for use with compatible modular drill bodies in demanding metal-cutting applications. This solid carbide tip measures 27.00 mm in cutting diameter and features a 140-degree point angle with a standard point type. The TiAlN coating is applied via PVD process, providing thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. The PKM insert geometry and helical flute design support chip evacuation across a range of hole-making operations. Seat size is L. The tip is clamped into the drill body using an insert holding method and does not include coolant-through capability.
This tip is suited for drilling operations in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, and K. The TDMX series addresses a range of demanding hole-making scenarios including cross-hole drilling, inclined entry, inclined exit, and stacked plate drilling. It is typically installed in CNC machining centers and turning centers by machinists and tooling specialists in industrial manufacturing environments. The 11 percent cobalt carbide substrate and WP40PD grade make it appropriate for production drilling where edge toughness and coating durability are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement tip for TDMX series modular drill bodies accepting seat size L inserts. Consult the drill body specification to confirm seat size and series compatibility before ordering.
Replaceable drill tips should be installed and torqued per the drill body manufacturer's specification using the designated torque wrench or key supplied with the drill body. Ensure the drill body seat is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the tip. Machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before any tip change. Follow shop safety procedures and applicable OSHA machine-guarding requirements when servicing rotating tooling.
