The WIDIA 5577103 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. It features a 3/8-inch diameter, a 7/8-inch length of cut, and a 2.5-inch overall length. The tool carries a WP15PE AlTiN-based PVD coating applied through physical vapor deposition, which improves heat resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting environments. With five helical flutes, a close pitch, variable index geometry, and a 0.030-inch corner radius, this end mill handles both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. It is single-ended with a straight cylindrical 3/8-inch shank for standard toolholder fitment.
This end mill belongs to the WIDIA Series 5V0C and is intended for use in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and similar toolholder-based setups. Its material application range covers steel (ISO P), stainless steel and cast iron (ISO M and K), high-temperature alloys, and hard materials, making it a versatile choice for job shops and production machinists working across multiple workpiece materials. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation suit conventional vertical and horizontal milling operations. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant or mist is the standard approach.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch cylindrical shank. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials per the Series 5V0C application range.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank in a toolholder to the appropriate clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications, and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or safe state before loading or unloading the tool. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
