The WIDIA 5576591 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 1/8 inch cutting diameter and four helical flutes at a 38-degree helix angle, this single-end tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and a clean finish in tough materials. The AlTiN coating under WIDIA material grade WP15PE provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting steels, stainless steels, superalloys, and titanium. It is a center-cutting tool, allowing direct plunge entry. Machinists and toolroom operators in job shops, aerospace, and precision manufacturing environments rely on this geometry for demanding contouring and slotting operations.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, titanium, and hard materials classified under ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H. With a 1/4 inch length of cut, a 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank, and a 1-1/2 inch overall length, it fits standard toolholders and collet chucks used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The regular-length profile keeps overhang minimal, which supports rigidity during high-speed cutting passes in close-tolerance work.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with standard collet or toolholder systems accepting a 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO codes P, M, K, S, H), with secondary suitability for high-temperature alloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder and torque the retention hardware according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with an indicator before beginning a cut, particularly given the small 1/8 inch diameter, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and risks breakage.
