The WIDIA 5576529 is a 4-flute solid carbide square end mill engineered for demanding material removal in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a 3/4-inch cutting diameter with a 1-1/2-inch length of cut and a 4-inch overall length. The WP15PE coating is matched to the WP15PE carbide grade, providing wear resistance and thermal stability when running aggressive feeds and speeds in high-hardness workpieces. A 38-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces in difficult-to-machine alloys. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tooling specialists operating CNC machining centers in production and job shop environments.
The 5576529 is suited for slotting, side milling, and profiling operations in steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast materials (K), superalloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H). The Series 4V05 geometry is optimized for these ISO material groups. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive retention in standard end mill holders, making it appropriate for high-torque roughing and finishing cuts where pull-out is a concern. Applications include aerospace component machining, die and mold work, and general precision part manufacturing where workpiece materials exceed the capability of uncoated or HSS tooling.
Designed for use in standard 3/4-inch end mill holders and Weldon-flat toolholders on CNC machining centers. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H. Secondary application covers high-temperature alloys (ISO S).
Install into a clean, undamaged 3/4-inch Weldon flat toolholder and torque the set screw against the flat per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout at the cutting edge before initiating a cut, as excessive runout accelerates flute wear and reduces tool life. Always follow machine tool safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE when handling carbide end mills. Inspect the cutting edges and coating before each use and remove the tool from service at the first sign of chipping or coating breakdown.
