The WIDIA 5576520 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Measuring 0.5 inches in diameter with a 1.25-inch length of cut and a 3-inch overall length, this single-end tool carries a 38-degree helix angle and an AlTiN coating designated WP15PE. The four-flute, right-hand cut geometry promotes chip evacuation and surface finish quality. It is suited for CNC milling centers and manual mills where tight tolerances and tool life in hard or abrasive materials are priorities.
This end mill is designed primarily for cutting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, as well as secondary workpiece materials classified as high-temperature alloys. The AlTiN WP15PE coating adds heat resistance and hardness at the cutting edge, making it a practical choice for dry or semi-dry machining environments. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive and minimizes pullout risk during aggressive cuts. Machinists and tooling specialists working in job shops, aerospace component manufacturing, and precision metalworking will find this tool relevant to their setups.
Designed for use in CNC and manual milling machines accepting a 0.5-inch shank, within the WIDIA Series 4V05 end mill family, for applications involving steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as defined by material codes P, M, K, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat shank securely in a compatible end mill holder and tighten the set screw against the flat to the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, and confirm that speeds and feeds are set per the tooling manufacturer's recommendations for the workpiece material.
