The WIDIA 5576514 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining environments. Built on the Series 4V05 platform, this single-end mill features four flutes with a 38-degree helix angle and an AlTiN (WP15PE) coating that supports elevated cutting temperatures and extends tool life in abrasive materials. The 3/8-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 7/8-inch length of cut, making it well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations where controlled chip evacuation and edge retention are critical. It is center-cutting, right-hand cut, and right-hand flute with a straight-cylindrical shank.
This end mill is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, hard materials, and high-temperature alloys - material groups P, M, K, S, and H. It is a standard-reach, regular-length tool with no chipbreaker and no variable helix or variable index geometry, making it straightforward to program and apply in conventional CNC milling operations. Typical applications include finish and semi-finish milling on vertical machining centers and CNC mills across aerospace, oil and gas, and general metalworking production environments.
Designed for use in standard 3/8-inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders on CNC vertical or horizontal machining centers. Rated for workpiece materials in ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H, including steel, stainless steel, titanium, superalloys, and hard materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Verify holder bore cleanliness and proper insertion depth to maintain concentricity and prevent runout. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and WIDIA application guidelines for recommended speeds, feeds, and coolant strategy for the target workpiece material.
