The WIDIA 5576510 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for material removal in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built to Series 4V05 specifications, it features a 1/4 inch diameter cutting edge, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 38-degree helix angle optimized for chip evacuation and tool life. The AlTiN coating (grade WP15PE) provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting temperatures. With four right-hand helical flutes and a straight cylindrical shank, this end mill suits CNC machining centers and manual mills running at aggressive feeds and speeds in tough materials. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers and operators.
This end mill is rated for steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H. It is also identified for secondary use in high-temperature alloys. The 2.5 inch overall length, 1/4 inch shank diameter, and regular-length classification make it a compact, versatile choice for profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling in tight-tolerance work. Single-end configuration means the tool is replaced rather than flipped when worn.
Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO codes P, M, K, S, H), with secondary compatibility in high-temperature alloys. Fits any spindle or tool holder accepting a 1/4 inch straight shank.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing the end mill from its holder. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder and torque the retention mechanism to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before committing to full-depth cuts, especially in hard materials where tool deflection accelerates wear.
