The WIDIA 5576346 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance metal cutting in demanding shop environments. With a 1/8 inch cutting diameter, four helical flutes, and a 38-degree helix angle, it delivers aggressive material removal with controlled chip evacuation. The AlTiN coating (material grade WP15PE) provides elevated heat resistance and wear protection, extending tool life in high-speed and dry-cutting applications. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool with a right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction, making it suitable for plunge, slot, and peripheral milling operations. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working with tight-tolerance features will find this tool sized for fine detail work.
The 5576346 is designed for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, hard materials, and high-temperature alloys. Its compact 1/8 inch diameter and 1/2 inch length of cut make it well suited for slot milling, contouring, and profiling in small-bore or tight-clearance applications. The regular-length configuration and straight cylindrical shank allow direct installation into standard collet chucks and tool holders without adapters, simplifying setup on vertical machining centers and CNC mills.
Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H); secondary workpiece material is high-temperature alloy. Part of the WIDIA Series 4V05 end mill family.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the straight cylindrical shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder to the tool holder manufacturer's specified clamping torque. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout on a 1/8 inch tool accelerates premature breakage.
