The WIDIA 5416418 is an indexable square-shoulder end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal-cutting environments. Built on the VSM11 series platform, this right-hand tool features a 3/4-inch Weldon flat shank, three flute spiral geometry, and a maximum depth of cut of 1.1701 inches. Insert retention uses a screw-holding method for secure, repeatable positioning. A coolant-through design with a 0.197-inch coolant hole diameter supports chip evacuation and tool life in demanding cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists install and program this cutter for production milling applications.
This end mill is suited for square-shoulder milling, pocketing, slotting, and ramping operations across a broad range of workpiece materials. Its universal primary workpiece material rating and general-purpose tool performance classification make it adaptable to steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials. The maximum ramping angle of 8.6 degrees supports helical entry and plunge-ramp strategies. The 90-degree lead angle ensures a true square shoulder with no axial burr transfer. Shops running three-axis or five-axis CNC machining centers are the primary environment for this tool.
Compatible with XD.T11.. series indexable inserts as specified by the manufacturer under ISO number VSM11D075Z03W075XD11. Three insert seats accommodate standard XD.T11.. geometry inserts.
This tool is installed and operated by trained CNC machinists or tooling engineers on vertical or horizontal machining centers equipped with a Weldon flat set-screw holder or compatible end-mill chuck. Before changing inserts or mounting the cutter, isolate machine power and confirm spindle is fully stopped. Torque insert screws only with the manufacturer-recommended Torx or hex key to avoid seat damage. Confirm maximum spindle RPM does not exceed the rated 36,300 RPM limit at any programmed feed condition.
