The WIDIA 4143995 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from solid carbide and coated with TiAlN for heat and wear resistance, this bit delivers consistent results across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 140-degree web-thinned point reduces entry thrust and improves centering on hard materials. At 3.5 inches overall length with a 1.85-inch flute length, this is a stub-length format suited for close-tolerance work in rigid setups. It is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance professionals working with drill presses, CNC machining centers, and manual mills.
The 4143995 is rated for general-purpose drilling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and high-temperature alloys. The screw machine length format makes it well suited for drilling in fixtures, jigs, or tight-clearance setups where a jobber-length bit would extend too far. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard chucks and collets in both CNC and manual machine tool applications. With a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 1.38 inches, this bit is optimized for shallow-to-medium-depth holes requiring accuracy and surface finish.
Designed as a general-purpose screw machine length drill bit for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. Part of the WIDIA VDS201A series.
This bit is installed by machinists and CNC operators in drill chucks or collet systems sized for a straight shank. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the chuck is properly secured before inserting or removing the bit. Verify runout and chuck condition before use, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on solid carbide tooling. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for feed rate and spindle speed for the specific workpiece material.
