The WIDIA 3607825 is a carbide threading insert engineered for precision thread-cutting in both internal and external applications. Built to NT style geometry with a TN6025 grade carbide substrate, this insert carries an AlTiN finish applied via PVD coating process, delivering improved wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The insert targets a 60-degree V thread standard and handles external pitch ranges of 1.25 to 4.0 and internal pitch ranges of 2.0 to 5.0. It is sized at Insert Size 3 with a thickness of 0.344 inches and a corner radius of 0.0065 inches. Machinists and tool-room technicians working in production or job-shop environments use this insert on CNC lathes and manual threading equipment.
This threading insert is suited for right-hand threading operations on a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials where a 60-degree included angle profile is required. The flat chipbreaker geometry keeps chip control predictable during single-point threading passes on both internal bores and external diameters. The NT series platform is typically used in production threading where insert changeover speed and consistent thread form accuracy are priorities. Coolant-through is not supported on this insert, so external coolant delivery should be used when cutting heat-sensitive materials.
Designed for use in NT series compatible threading toolholders accepting a Size 3, NT style insert with an ANSI and ISO code of NT3R. Verify toolholder bore and clamping slot dimensions before installation.
Threading inserts are installed and changed by qualified machinists or tool-room technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing any insert. Ensure the clamp and toolholder pocket are free of chips and debris before indexing or replacing the insert to prevent improper seating. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidance for the clamping screw; do not over-tighten, as this can crack the carbide substrate.
