The WIDIA 3607530 is a carbide threading insert designed for precision thread-cutting operations on both internal and external workpieces. Built to NT style in size 3, this insert carries a TN6010 grade carbide substrate with a TiAlN finish applied via PVD coating process. The 60-degree V thread profile and right-hand orientation make it a standard choice for general threading applications across a range of pitches. At 0.344 inches thick with a corner radius of 0.0065 inches, it delivers consistent geometry suited to production machining environments. Installation and use require compatible NT-style toolholders using a clamp holding method.
This insert handles both internal and external threading within a single geometry. The external pitch range runs from 1.25 to 4.0, while the internal pitch range covers 2.0 to 5.0. It is well suited for shops running general turning centers or CNC lathes where thread form consistency across multiple parts is required. The flat chipbreaker design is appropriate for threading passes where chip control is managed through feed and depth of cut rather than a formed groove. Machinists and toolroom technicians working with ferrous and non-ferrous materials will find this grade applicable across a range of workpiece materials.
Designed for use in NT-style threading toolholders using a clamp insert holding method. ANSI and ISO code NT3R. Compatible with both internal and external threading applications within the specified pitch ranges.
Threading inserts should be installed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing inserts. Confirm insert seating against the pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamp. Verify thread pitch and hand orientation against the job drawing before initiating the threading cycle.
