The WIDIA 3607058 is a Top Notch grooving insert designed for precision grooving and turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the NG-K series standard, this left-hand insert features a 0.094 inch (2.39 mm) cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 0.150 inch (3.81 mm). The substrate is solid carbide coated with TiAlN via a PVD process under the manufacturer grade TN6010, delivering thermal stability and wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. A positive rake angle of 10 degrees and an 11-degree lead angle support clean chip formation during grooving passes. The K chip breaker geometry is suited to controlled-chip applications. This insert is installed and replaced by machinists and CNC lathe operators in production and job-shop environments.
The 3607058 is intended for grooving and turning of cast iron, stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and steel, as well as non-ferrous metals as a secondary application. It seats in NG-K style Top Notch toolholders accepting a size 3 insert seat. The insert is clamped in place using a top-clamp holding method. Typical applications include external groove profiles, parting preparation, and contour turning where a left-hand insert orientation is required by the toolholder setup or part geometry.
Designed for use in Top Notch NG-K series toolholders accepting a size 3 insert seat. ANSI and ISO code reference: NG3094LK. Suitable for grooving and turning applications as noted in the manufacturer catalog under number NG3094LK.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the appropriate clamp screw torque driver recommended for Top Notch clamp-style toolholders - do not overtighten the clamp, as this can chip the carbide. Verify insert orientation (left-hand) matches the toolholder hand before beginning a cut.
