The WIDIA 2836632 is a solid carbide boring bar designed for small-diameter internal boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. Built from ultra fine grain carbide, it delivers consistent edge integrity and dimensional accuracy in tight-tolerance bores. The bar has a minimum bore diameter of 0.0620 inches (1/16 inch), a maximum bore depth of 0.2130 inches, and an overall length of 0.8630 inches. The right-hand cutting direction and 2-degree bar end angle suit standard right-hand turning setups. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians working on small-bore components rely on this bar for precision finishing in confined bore geometries.
This boring bar is suited for small-bore applications in production machining and toolroom environments. The ultra fine grain carbide construction makes it appropriate for materials requiring sharp, stable cutting edges. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. The 1/16-inch shank diameter fits corresponding bore bar holders and micro-boring systems used in watchmaking, medical device, and precision instrument component work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit boring bar for holders accepting a 1/16-inch shank diameter in standard micro-boring and small-bore turning setups.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank firmly in the boring bar holder to the depth recommended by the holder manufacturer to minimize overhang and chatter. Verify cutting direction and tool offset in the machine controller before initiating a cut.
