Product Description

The WIDIA 2825304 is a solid carbide indexable boring bar in the QCBI series, designed for internal boring operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. It accepts a triangular insert secured by a screw-clamp holding method and delivers a positive rake geometry with a radial rake of 5 degrees for clean, efficient chip removal. The bar has a 0.438-inch minimum bore diameter and a 6-inch overall length, making it well suited for reaching into deeper bores while maintaining rigidity. A 0.125-inch coolant-through hole supports direct coolant delivery to the cutting zone, extending insert life and improving chip evacuation during continuous cuts.

This boring bar is intended for use in production and job-shop environments where quick-change boring setups are required. The QCBI toolholder style is compatible with standard quick-change boring systems. It accepts a TP..21505 series triangular insert with a 1/4-inch inscribed circle and a 0.094-inch insert thickness. The bar is rated for universal workpiece material, making it appropriate across a broad range of ferrous and non-ferrous applications. Insert is not included and must be sourced separately.

Key Features

  • Solid carbide construction provides rigidity and vibration resistance in small-diameter bore applications
  • Coolant-through design with 0.125-inch coolant hole for direct cutting-zone flood or high-pressure coolant
  • Screw-clamp insert holding method for secure positive insert location and repeatable tool offsets
  • Positive rake geometry with 5-degree radial rake reduces cutting forces and heat generation
  • Compatible with TP..21505 series triangular inserts with 1/4-inch inscribed circle
  • Right-hand cut orientation; multi-use toolholder suitable across universal workpiece materials

Compatibility

Designed for use with TP..21505 series triangular indexable inserts with a 1/4-inch inscribed circle and 0.094-inch insert thickness. Insert is not included. Fits standard 3/8-inch shank quick-change boring setups using the QCBI toolholder style.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the toolholder from the turret or boring head. Verify shank diameter compatibility with the tool block or quick-change holder before mounting. Torque the insert-clamping screw to the insert manufacturer specification using the correct Torx or hex key; do not substitute tools or exceed the specified fastener torque.
