The WIDIA 2823753 is a triangular carbide boring insert designed for precision material removal in CNC turning and boring operations. Manufactured to the TPHH-L series standard, this insert carries a Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating applied via PVD process, which extends cutting edge life and reduces built-up edge on a range of workpiece materials. Key dimensions include a 0.25-inch inscribed circle, a 3/32-inch (0.0938 inch) thickness, and a 0.015-inch corner radius. With a positive rake geometry and an 11-degree relief angle, it is suited for finishing and semi-finishing cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production environments are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is intended for left-hand cutting direction and fits screw-clamped toolholders compatible with the TPHH insert style. It is applicable across a range of secondary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.277 inches and three usable cutting edges per insert, it is well suited for internal boring, facing, and turning applications in both light production and job-shop environments. The ANSI code is TPHH2151L and the ISO code is TPHH110204L.
Designed for use in screw-clamped TPHH-L series left-hand toolholders. Compatible workpiece materials include steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), and non-ferrous metals (N). Conforms to ANSI standard TPHH2151L and ISO standard TPHH110204L.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and clamping specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Confirm cutting direction and insert hand match the toolholder setup before engaging a cut. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert to prevent improper clamping and premature edge failure.
