The WESTLAKE PIPE FITTINGS P1219 is a solvent weld PVC reducer bushing designed to transition from an 8-inch pipe to a 4-inch pipe within SDR-35 drain, waste, and vent or sewer piping systems. Manufactured to SDR-35 dimensional standards, this bushing provides a reliable, solvent-cemented connection that maintains flow integrity across the reduction. It is a standard component in gravity-flow sewer and stormwater drainage applications and is typically installed by licensed plumbers or drainage contractors working on residential and commercial below-grade piping.
This reducer bushing is suited for underground sewer laterals, stormwater conveyance lines, and gravity drain systems where an 8-inch main must be reduced to a 4-inch branch or service line. The solvent weld joint method ensures a watertight, permanent connection when used with the appropriate PVC primer and solvent cement. It is appropriate for use in both new construction and repair or replacement work on SDR-35 PVC piping systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for SDR-35 PVC gravity sewer and drainage piping systems using 8-inch to 4-inch reducer bushing configurations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code or applicable local codes governing below-grade sewer piping. Before cutting into an existing line, confirm the system is depressurized and drained. Apply a listed PVC primer followed by solvent cement rated for SDR-35 fittings, and allow the joint to cure fully before backfilling or returning the system to service. Do not use this fitting in pressure-rated applications.
