The WELDERS CHOICE 59803767 is a stainless steel stick welding electrode engineered for shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) applications. This E316L-16 classification rod runs on 75 to 110 amps and produces low-carbon austenitic stainless weld deposits that resist intergranular corrosion. At 3/32 inch in diameter and 12 inches in length, it is sized for tight-clearance work and precise fillet welds on thinner stainless base metals. Certified welders and fabricators working on food-service equipment, chemical processing pipe, and marine components will find this electrode a reliable match for jobs where corrosion resistance and weld integrity are critical.
This E316L-16 electrode is suited for residential and light commercial fabrication as well as industrial maintenance and repair work involving 316 and 316L stainless steel base metals. The rutile-lime coating characteristic of the -16 classification supports AC and DC electrode-positive operation, giving technicians flexibility across a range of power sources. It is a common choice for pipe welding, sheet metal fabrication, and structural repair where low-carbon stainless filler is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement electrode for SMAW applications on 316 and 316L stainless steel base metals where an E316L-16 classification filler is required.
Installation and use of this electrode should be performed by a qualified, certified welder following applicable AWS and workplace safety standards. Ensure the welding power source is set to the correct polarity and amperage range before striking an arc. Store electrodes in a dry environment and recondition in a rod oven if moisture exposure is suspected, as moisture in the coating can cause porosity and cracking. Use appropriate PPE including a properly rated welding helmet, gloves, and ventilation when working with stainless steel electrodes to limit exposure to hexavalent chromium fumes.
