The WELDERS CHOICE 59803312 is a silicon bronze MIG welding wire classified to the ERCuSi-A industry specification. It is supplied on a 2-pound roll with a wire diameter of 0.035 inches. ERCuSi-A wire is a copper-silicon alloy used for gas metal arc welding (GMAW) where a strong, corrosion-resistant deposit is required. It produces low spatter and clean welds on copper, brass, bronze, and coated steels. This wire is drawn to a consistent diameter for reliable wire feed and stable arc performance. Licensed welders and fabricators select ERCuSi-A wire when joining dissimilar metals or when minimizing heat input on thin-gauge materials.
ERCuSi-A silicon bronze wire is commonly used in automotive bodywork, HVAC sheet metal fabrication, plumbing fixture repair, and general metalworking where a lower melting point and reduced heat distortion are priorities. It is well suited for MIG brazing applications on galvanized and zinc-coated steel, where preserving the zinc coating adjacent to the weld zone is important. Typical applications include automotive restoration shops, sheet metal contractors, and maintenance welding operations working with copper alloys or coated steel substrates.
Designed for use in standard MIG welding setups configured for ERCuSi-A silicon bronze wire, typically run with 100 percent argon or argon-rich shielding gas as appropriate for copper-alloy GMAW processes.
Installation and use of this welding wire should be performed by a qualified welder familiar with GMAW processes and applicable AWS standards. Ensure the welding machine, wire feeder, and contact tip are sized for 0.035-inch wire before loading the spool. Use appropriate personal protective equipment including welding helmet, gloves, and flame-resistant clothing. Work in a well-ventilated area, as copper-alloy welding fumes require proper respiratory protection per OSHA and AWS safety guidelines.
