The WELDERS CHOICE 59802033 is a carbon steel brazing alloy rod classified to industry specification ER70S6. It measures 3/32 inches in diameter and 36 inches in length, making it a standard-format filler rod for MIG and gas welding applications. The ER70S6 classification indicates high silicon content, which improves weld pool fluidity and supports porosity-free deposits on base metals that may have surface contaminants or mill scale. At 10 pounds per package, this product is suited for shop and field use by welders, pipefitters, and HVAC-R technicians performing carbon steel joining work.
This alloy rod is used across residential, commercial, and light industrial settings wherever carbon steel components require high-strength fusion. Typical applications include structural fabrication, pipe joining, HVAC equipment assembly, and general sheet metal or mechanical repair work. The ER70S6 grade is widely specified for single-pass and multi-pass welds on mild and low-alloy carbon steels. It performs reliably in both shop environments and field service conditions where base metal cleanliness cannot always be controlled.
Designed as an ER70S6-specification filler metal for use with mild and low-alloy carbon steel base materials in MIG welding and gas welding applications.
This filler rod should be installed and used by qualified welders or pipefitters familiar with applicable AWS and local code requirements. Ensure the base metal is as clean and dry as practical before welding, and confirm shielding gas type and flow rate are appropriate for the process being used. Store rods in a dry environment to prevent moisture contamination, which can affect weld quality. Do not use this carbon steel alloy on stainless steel, aluminum, or dissimilar metal joints without verifying compatibility with a welding engineer.
