The WELDAS 44-3008 is an aluminized fiberglass hand shield designed to protect welders from intense radiant heat and weld spatter during high-heat welding operations. The outer aluminized layer reflects up to 95% of radiant heat, keeping the hand cooler during extended use and prolonging the service life of welding gloves worn beneath it. A fiberglass construction handles high-spatter welding environments, while a split cowhide under layer adds supplemental heat insulation. Double Kevlar stitching throughout the seams provides added durability under demanding conditions. This shield is sized as one size fits all and is sold individually.
The 44-3008 is built for professional welders working in fabrication, structural, or industrial settings where radiant heat and spatter exposure are constant concerns. It is intended for use during MIG, flux-core, and other high-spatter welding processes. The unique combination of a leather and elastic strap secures the shield firmly to the hand, reducing strap fatigue and minimizing strap burn-out during extended shifts. Welding professionals who regularly work near open-arc or high-heat sources will benefit from its reflective outer surface and insulating inner layer.
Designed as a general-purpose hand shield for professional welders using standard welding gloves in high-radiant-heat and high-spatter applications.
The 44-3008 is worn over standard welding gloves by welding professionals and should be inspected before each use for signs of wear, strap degradation, or stitching failure. Power down all welding equipment before donning or adjusting the shield. Replace the shield if the aluminized layer shows significant cracking, peeling, or loss of reflectivity, as reduced reflectance directly increases radiant heat exposure to the hand.
