The WELDAS 44-2106 is a pair of welding spats designed to protect the foot and lower shin during welding and cutting operations. Constructed from select split cowhide, these spats provide heat, flame, and abrasion resistance while maintaining comfortable wear. A stiffened cowhide shoe top cover with a round contour allows spatter to roll off the surface, and the shape-to-fit shin guard conforms to the wearer for a secure, comfortable fit. Double Kevlar stitching and riveted stress points reinforce high-wear areas for extended service life. These spats are sold as a pair.
Spats of this type are used in MIG, TIG, stick, and oxy-fuel operations where spatter, sparks, or slag can damage footwear and cause burns to the lower leg. They are commonly used in structural steel, fabrication, shipyard, and maintenance welding environments. A Velcro closure provides approximately 3 inches of adjustability and delivers full closure protection across the instep and shin guard area, making them adaptable to a range of boot styles and sizes.
Designed as a standard OEM-style replacement or new-fit welding spat suitable for use over most leather and work-boot footwear in general industrial and welding applications.
Welding spats are fitted by welders and fabricators prior to beginning hot work. Place the spat over the boot, align the shin guard to the front of the leg, and secure the Velcro closure snugly without restricting circulation. Inspect the spat for damage, worn stitching, or compromised Velcro before each use and remove from service if structural integrity is reduced.
