The WEILER 98545 is a steel-fill scratch brush built for surface preparation, cleaning, and light material removal on metal, masonry, and similar substrates. It features a 4-row, 16-column wire configuration that delivers consistent contact across the work surface. The wood shoe-style handle provides a low-profile grip suited to scrubbing in tight spaces or along flat surfaces. This brush is a standard hand tool used by HVAC technicians, plumbers, pipefitters, electricians, and general maintenance trades for deburring, flux removal, rust removal, and pre-weld surface cleaning.
The 98545 is appropriate for residential and light commercial trade work wherever hand wire brushing is required. Common applications include cleaning pipe ends before soldering or brazing, removing oxidation from fittings, prepping metal surfaces before applying flux or adhesive, and general shop or field cleaning tasks. The shoe handle keeps the brush low and flat, making it practical for scrubbing along pipe runs, conduit, or flat plate surfaces without excessive wrist fatigue.
Designed as a general-purpose hand scratch brush suitable for surface preparation tasks in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and general mechanical trade applications.
This brush is a hand tool requiring no installation. Use appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, when wire brushing any surface. Steel wire fill is not recommended on stainless steel where cross-contamination is a concern — use a dedicated stainless brush in those cases. Inspect wire fill before each use and retire the brush if wires are bent, splayed, or pulling loose from the ferrule.
