The WEILER 94697 is a knotted cup brush designed for aggressive surface preparation, weld cleaning, and rust or scale removal on metal surfaces. Built with stainless steel wire at 0.023 inches in diameter, it delivers consistent cut and durability on stainless steel workpieces where carbon steel contamination must be avoided. The brush measures 3.5 inches in diameter with a single-row knotted fill pattern and is rated to a maximum of 13,300 RPM. It mounts via a 5/8-11 threaded arbor, making it compatible with standard angle grinders used by HVAC, plumbing, and general mechanical trades for surface conditioning and joint prep work.
This cup brush is suited for use in residential and commercial maintenance, fabrication shops, and field service environments. Typical applications include cleaning pipe ends before welding or brazing, removing oxidation from metal surfaces, and preparing joints on stainless steel systems. The knotted wire configuration provides more aggressive action than crimped wire brushes, making it the correct choice for heavy scale, slag, and weld spatter removal. It installs on angle grinders or die grinders equipped with the appropriate threaded spindle.
Designed for use with angle grinders and right-angle die grinders equipped with a 5/8-11 threaded spindle. Intended for surface preparation on stainless steel and similar corrosion-resistant metals where carbon steel wire contamination is not acceptable.
Licensed or qualified tradespeople should ensure the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the 13,300 RPM rating of this brush before mounting. Always power down and disconnect the tool from its power source before installing or removing the brush. Wear appropriate PPE including eye and face protection, as wire bristles can shed at operating speed. Thread the brush fully onto the 5/8-11 arbor and verify it is seated and secured before operation.
